A cover redesign for the famous <1984>.

I took my inspiration from the similarity the book and the architecture style, Brutalism shared. When gentle aesthetics are sacrificed for functionality, and entrenched in politic connotations. Large amount of concrete is used, which gives out a sense of unrefined cruelty. The feel of the building goes perfectly with the enormous but intricate, rough but practical political system illustrated in the book <1984>.

The eye sneaking in the shadow represents the ubiquitous surveillance. And the shattering silhouette stands for the futility of the pursue for independent will.
