Metaverse Project
3D Environment design & UI

During my last semester at NYU, I did a metaverse product design studio.

With four other group members, we came up with a comprehensive PRD of how a metaverse should function and be regulated, as well as the digital features that allows it to work. Additionally, we used Unity and Figma to design the 3D environment of our own metaverse and the interface through which the users participate in the experience.

We started by doing extensive research and presentations on existing metaverse products and discussing the concepts, designs, features, and risks/concerns the digital space involves. 

We brainstormed ideas of how a metaverse should help people experience a life with more possibilities and less limitations.

We studied the hardware required for the metaverse, like VR headsets, haptic suits, haptic gloves, etc. We experimented with different kinds of avatar generators and compared them regarding their accuracy, diversity, and aesthetics. 

We also worked together to design a comprehensive 3D space for our metaverse, which was based on the book Ready Player One. I chose to design a Super Store called " OASIS Marketplace".

The store allows interaction with items, such as viewing, see more options, read descriptions, and add to cart.

Design #3: 3D Environment

I then visualized my design in 3D, with Unity.

The color theme our group decided was a bold cyberpunk and futuristic palette.

Design #4: Game UI

The final task was to create the GUI our players see in this game-and-combat focused metaverse.

We used Figma to create wireframes and the final Hi-Fi User Interface Design.

I chose to design the avatar customization interface and the Oasis Marketplace Interface.
